TAFE SA - BEER FLAVOURS AND STYLES

 

This course, consisting of four evening sessions, is aimed at those wanting a detailed knowledge of beer styles, flavours, faults and evaluation. Participants will gain theoretical flavour knowledge and vocabulary, as well as exposure to beers of diverse styles, good, bad and spiked with specific compounds for the benefit of training their own palates.


Participants should note that consumption of alcohol is involved, and that travel from the venue should be planned accordingly.

Skills Covered

Micro Brewing

• Brewing, boots on in the 600L microbrewery

• Bottling on the automatic counter-pressure mono-block

• Malt, hop & yeast knowledge, chemistry, brew house, cellars and packaging work skills
